Spanish actress/writer/filmmaker Paula Roman was a medical doctor in Madrid before moving to New York to pursue a career in show business. Her science background and unique understanding of human relationships are palpable in all the characters she creates.
Paula studied acting at HB Studio in New York; improvisation at UCB; writing at NYU SPS, and is currently studying filmmaking at UCLA Extension in LA, where she is based.
After starring in several independent short movies and on the Off-Off Broadway theater scene, Paula started originating her content.
Her first project LA MANZANA (The Apple), a Latin Sex and the City-like dramedy TV pilot, won the best acting award at the ITV FEST in LA.
It was followed by BLACKOUT, an award-winning short film, which inspired Paula to develop its feature version titled The Strange Case of Señorita Flores, which she is preparing to film soon.
Paula just finished filming the short film titled Sculpting Michelangelo, based on a short play she wrote, directed and starred in Los Angeles, and is about to shoot a pilot presentation of a new TV series she developed inspired by funny stories of her life as a doctor, actress and woman who always gets into trouble!
Paula supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Samuel Goldwyn Children Center foundation, MPTF, and Elton John Aids Foundation.
